The nucleus of the Steve Pepper Band came together in the late '90s, and the band's first CD, The Information Age (a 6-song EP) soon followed.
In 1999, Memphis, the band's first full-length CD, was released.
The current lineup of the Steve Pepper Band solidified in 2005, as the band put the finishing touches on its third CD,
Land of the Unforgiven.
The band features Steve Pepper on vocals and acoustic guitar, Eric Miller on electric guitar, Jon Monck on bass, and Steve Politowski on drums.
Steve Bailey rounds-out the band, providing background vocals.
Gravity, the band's fourth studio effort, is nearing completion. The band will celebrate its release with a headlining set at
The Queen in Wilmington on Friday, April 26, 2013. The CD was produced and engineered by Delaware guitar phenom Brad Newsom and
features guest appearances by some of Delaware's finest, including (along with Brad) Mark "Red Baron" McTurk, Andrew Higley, Sam Starr,
Michael Davis, Steve Hobson, Rhonda Hill, and Ritchie Rubini.
Musically, the band has its feet firmly planted in the traditions of American rock 'n' roll.
The sound is electric, yet the band is flexible enough to allow its country, blues, and even reggae influences to shine on certain songs.
Steve Pepper's songwriting is current, yet timeless, and definitely steers clear of any "confessional singer/songwriter" pitfalls.
His rugged tunes defy easy categorization. The songs are iconic!
